The gospel renews our lives.
what is the gospel?
The gospel is “good news.” The gospel says that we are so lost, wicked, and helpless that only the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus could save us from ourselves. We believe that the gospel is for both Christians and non-Christians. The gospel is God’s announcement that Jesus has done everything that we could not do for ourselves. The gospel tells us that even though we are broken, we are loved and accepted. God is making all things new.
How does the Gospel change us?
Our lives are renewed each week through the public gathering of people in a weekly worship service for both believers and non-believers. We worship God by hearing the gospel through preaching, singing, praying, and celebrating the sacraments of baptism and communion (the Lord’s Supper). Those who lead are mindful of non-Christians being present and seek to make the gospel intelligible and Christianity accessible to everyone present. Through this worship service our lives are renewed by the gospel so that we can bring renewal to other people around us. (1 Corinthians 10:31; Isaiah 43:6-7; Colossians 3:1-17)
